The MOQ typically ranges from 500 to 1,000 meters per design or colorway. The exact number depends on:
- Material weight: Heavier materials may require a different minimum than lighter ones.
- Yarn type: Some specialized yarns have a minimum operational run on production lines.
- Design complexity: A complex jacquard pattern differs from a simple plain weave.
From sample to production: the timeline
- Sampling and testing phase: About 2-3 weeks after design approval. Physical samples are produced and undergo rigorous quality testing.
- Standard production: Once the sample is approved, production typically takes 4-6 weeks depending on volume.
Why these timeframes?
Private label manufacturing isn't just printing a pattern — it's developing a material from scratch: selecting yarns, setting up weaving machines for the new design, the actual weaving, then final treatments (stain, fire, UV resistance as needed), with each step undergoing quality inspection.
How to plan your project
If you have a target launch date, count backward: 2-3 weeks sampling + 4-6 weeks production + shipping time = typically 8-12 weeks from idea to receiving the final product. Early planning saves you time pressure later.
